We are delighted to welcome Elyssa Watson to our team:

Elyssa joins us with a strong background in gallery operations, film production, and client-facing arts environments, along with a deep commitment to community organizing and social justice. A graduate of Loyola Marymount University with a degree in Communication, she brings strengths in research, creative strategy, relationship building, and project management — all of which enrich her thoughtful, collaborative approach to her work. Elyssa has recently worked at Bonhams (LA), on the set of Summer Orange Film, and with Black Leaders for the Queer Community (Miami, FL).

Elyssa is especially passionate about queer, political, and community-rooted art practices, and was recently moved by Homocommunist (September 2025, Giovanni’s Room), an exhibition exploring queer radical archives and liberation histories. She is drawn to art that is both vulnerable and transformative, and values work that connects aesthetics with social change.

Outside the gallery, Elyssa is deeply involved in her local neighborhood of Koreatown where she volunteers within her community and supports tenant advocacy – particularly related to immigration. She also enjoys exploring Los Angeles’ vibrant house and electronic music scenes. She is excited to continue growing in the art world, contribute her own creative perspective, and learn from Abigail while supporting the gallery’s femme-forward vision.

Please join us in warmly welcoming Elyssa to the team!
