Coral Woodbury (b. 1971) is an artist and art historian whose practice revolves around the ambition of providing visibility to the unseen. In her work, Woodbury explores absences, illuminates the workings of personal and collective memory, and subverts dominant historical narratives. Born and raised in rural New York, Woodbury pursued a BFA at Binghamton University before making her way to Florence, Italy to study painting. During her time in Florence, Woodbury connected with other artist-teachers, as well as a cohort of over 90 international artists to form Rosenclaire, a collective now thirty years strong. Woodbury earned an MA in Museum Studies at SUNY, and began a museum career that has since informed her artistic practice, particularly her search for the buried stories of women across time and place.
