The expansion from Boston to Los Angeles marks an important moment for our gallery to establish a bi-coastal presence in the west coast’s contemporary art center, presenting a program that adapts the traditional gallery model to showcase collaborative perspectives. AOG x LA is committed to providing much-needed space and resources to curators and artists at all stages of their careers.
Big Time Sensuality will feature a selection of paintings, ceramics, fiber works, and photography from artists across the Central Coast and Southern California including Sherise Lee, Yasmine Esfandiary, Abel Guzman, Chad Hagerman, Cassandra C. Jones, Maria Arroyo, Elena Stonaker, Leonard Wilson, Jane Hollick, Jade Gordon, and Megan Whitmarsh. The exhibition is a jubilant celebration of the vibrant, the bold, and the playful. Inspired by the eponymous Björk song released in 1993, this exhibition embarks on an exploration of the transformative power of potentiality, harnessing the unparalleled musician’s call for vulnerability and courage as necessary tools for creativity.
As a California-based curator, Terry brings her unique outlook to AOG’s inaugural exhibition, marking her own first solo curatorial project and a strong introduction to the gallery’s vision.
